Report on the Talk by Ms. Franco on June 11th, 2024
On June 11th, 2024, Maïte Franco delivered a hybrid talk at the University of Luxembourg on the importance of languages in neurotypical and autistic families. Ms. Franco, a psychologist with extensive experience in autism spectrum disorder (ASD), is currently pursuing a PhD that focuses on the relationship between languages, interactions in monolingual and multilingual families, and social skills relevant to autism.
During the hour-long presentation, she shared her research findings, highlighting the significance of language in shaping social interactions and development in both neurotypical and autistic individuals. Attendees, both in-person and online, had the opportunity to engage with Ms. Franco, ask questions, and discuss her insights.
