On the 4th of April, we launched a new series of talks at the University of Luxembourg: Multilingual Bites. These series of talks are intended to cover different aspects of how to deal with multilingualism in children. The aim of this series of talks are to answer questions parents may have, and that people can attend in person or online. The intention is that one or two experts introduce a topic followed by a questions and answer. In this first talk, Dr. Claudine Kirsch and Dr. Pascale Engel de Abreu presented evidence on how educators and teachers promote multilingualism in day care centers in Luxembourg. Dr. Pascale presented data from her project MOLLY, "an evidence-based oral language intervention for Portuguese-speaking children in preschool who show weakness in their oral language skills and who are at risk of experiencing educational difficulties" (Engel de Abreu, 2023). After the talks, there was time for a fruitful discussion.
